A donor recognition plaque thanks the people whose gifts built a wing, a library, a scholarship or a playground, and it does it in a material that will still look right in fifty years. Development offices come to us because every plaque is priced live in our online designer, so a board can see what a bronze wall of names costs before it approves the campaign, and because the written proof means every name and every spelling is checked before anything is cast.

Where donor plaques are used
- Named rooms and wings in hospitals, hospices, universities and museums, with a single plaque beside the door
- Donor walls in a lobby, where one large plaque or a set of matching plaques lists every giving level
- Church gifts: pews, stained glass, organs, bells and memorial gardens, usually with a small plaque for each gift
- Scholarships and endowments, recognised with a plaque in the department that benefits
- Capital campaigns for libraries, sports facilities, fire stations and community centres
- Trees, benches and playground equipment funded by individual donors
Choosing the size for the number of names
Bronze is priced by area, so the size should follow the list, not the other way round. As a guide at a letter height that reads comfortably from a few feet away, a 12 x 8 inch plaque carries a heading and about six to eight lines, a 16 x 12 holds a heading and twelve to sixteen names in two columns, and our largest designer size, 22 x 15 inches, holds a heading and twenty to thirty names. For a wall with more donors than that, a set of matching plaques, one per giving level, looks tidier than one crowded panel and lets you add a plaque when the next campaign closes.
| Size (inches) | Typical use | Designer price, standard rectangle |
|---|---|---|
| 8 x 6 | Single gift, pew, room door | $540.98 |
| 12 x 8 | Named room, small group of donors | $796.86 |
| 16 x 12 | Campaign plaque, two columns of names | $1,264.58 |
| 22 x 15 | Donor wall panel, three columns | $1,908.50 |
Prices were taken from our live designer on August 31, 2026 for a standard rectangle with a classic border and leatherette background. Your exact figure updates on screen as you change size, border, emblems and fastening.
Wording that works on a recognition plaque
Keep the heading short and let the names carry the plaque. The usual order is the heading, a sentence about the gift, the giving levels with the names under each, and the date or campaign year at the foot.
- Heading: With Gratitude to Our Donors; In Recognition of the Generosity of; This Wing Was Made Possible By
- Gift line: Whose gifts built the Children’s Library, 2026
- Levels: Founders, Benefactors, Patrons, Friends, or amounts if your policy publishes them
- Memorial gifts: In Loving Memory of, followed by the name, then Given By and the donor
Write names exactly as the donor asked to be listed, including titles and suffixes, and confirm them in writing before you approve the proof. Our proof shows the plaque at scale, so you can check that every name fits on one line.
Logos, seals and finishes
Upload your organisation’s logo or crest and it is cast in relief as part of the plaque. Choose a plain, leatherette or pebbled background, a single line, double line or decorative border, and raised polished lettering in a dark oxidised field, which is the finish most institutions already have on older plaques, so a new plaque sits comfortably beside them. Rectangles in landscape or portrait, ovals and circles are all available in the designer.
Mounting in a lobby or on a wall
For a brick, stone or concrete wall choose lugs with studs, which are concealed and set in epoxy or anchors, so the face shows nothing but the lettering. For drywall over studs or a timber panel, screws visible from the front with matching bronze rosettes are the simplest fixing. Every plaque ships with a drilling template.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a bronze donor recognition plaque cost?
In our designer a 12 x 8 inch cast bronze plaque is $796.86 and a 16 x 12 is $1,264.58, with shipping included, at prices taken on August 31, 2026. Larger donor walls are usually made as a set of matching plaques, and each one is priced on screen as you design it.
Can we add names later?
Yes. The cleanest way is to plan a set of matching plaques by giving level or by year and add a plaque when the next campaign closes. We keep your design on file, so the next plaque matches the border, background and lettering of the first.
Can our logo be included?
Yes. Upload the logo in the designer and it is cast in relief as part of the plaque. A simple, solid logo reproduces best in bronze.
Do you offer a discount for nonprofits or for a set of plaques?
Contact us with the list of sizes before you order. We quote sets of plaques as a group and can confirm the delivery date for a dedication ceremony.
How long does it take?
Allow about 3 to 4 weeks for casting after you approve the free proof, plus 5 to 10 days for delivery anywhere in the USA and worldwide.
